    .mp4 files won't convert

I suddenly can't convert .mp4 files anymore. It was working fine, (I was using the m4p2mp4.exe to get the .mp4 files), and now when I try to convert the .mp4 to either .wav or .mp3 the converted file is only 1 to 3 KB. It acts like it's working correctly, except it says conversion took 0 or 1 seconds. The .mp4 file is the correct size, so I'm guessing the problem is not with the dos converter. What can I do now? I tried uninstall/reinstall of DMC, but it's still not working.

      Re: .mp4 files won't convert

Hi, I've followed the directions and I have a slightly different problem. Firstly,
the reference to m4p2mp4.exe ( http://pessoal.onda.com.br/rjamorim/stuff/ ) actually refer to a program called hymn.exe, which I found on the url specifying the former. I used this program to convert my protected m4p file to an unprotected m4a. I played the converted file in iTunes and it worked fine. I tried to convert with dbpoweramp to mp3 and got the message "The file 'C:\converted\The_Way_I_Am.mp4' could not be opened." Any idea why this is so?

      -Thanks in advance.

So I take that through hymn.exe you created a file called 'C:\converted\The_Way_I_Am.m4a' ? While dMC is looking for 'C:\converted\The_Way_I_Am.mp4' ?

Try renaming it to The_Way_I_Am.mp4 and run dMC again.

I have both of these problems too. Right now I'm trying to get an mp3 out of an m4a, and it's not working (the "could not be opened" problem). Plays fine on itunes, was unlocked with iOpener.

My solution: use a.71 or later of hymn to make the m4a's from the m4p's. iOpener uses an earlier version of the hymn code, I guess.
