Error while converting from Wave to Mp3 Lame

Whenever I try to convert a Wave file to Mp3 Lame format, I get this error message:

The CODEC required to compress 'C:\WINDOWS\Profiles\cdye7\Desktop\Kolima Forest.mp3' could not be opened.

    Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

By the way, the name of the file I'm trying to convert is "Kolima Forest.wav" just to avoid any confusion.

Try changing the encoding options you are using to create the mp3 file.

Are you absolutely certain it is a wav file? if so is it 16-bit or 24-bit? 16-bit or less can be converted by dMC. 24-bit cannot. You can try dMC Auxiliary input to capture the audio to a 16-bit 44.1 KHz wav file and convert it afterwards (or capture directly to mp3).

Thanks, I've already tried all of those, but thank you for your suggestions. The Wave file is 16 bit by the way. Any other possible solutions?

Can your wav file be played properly in WIndows Media Player or any other player?

Have you downloaded and installed the latest version of dMC? Also various codecs?

Yes, I've done all that too, but thank you anyway. Anyone else?

What frequency (in hz) and settings (1Mono, 2 'Stereo' (cd), etc.) does your wav file have?
What mp3 settings (frequency, bitrate, etc) are you trying to write to?
