    24 bit 96000 hz

This may be a stupid question but I was wondering if converting flac or ape files to 24bit/96hz rather than 16bit/44.1hz will yield better sound quality when burning music to a standard cd ?

I need to clarify my question. I'm talking about converting flac and ape files to 24bit/96hz or 16bit/44.1 .wav files before burning them to cd.

That probably wouldn't work or wouldn't help any, because cda is based on 16bit 44.1KHz wav anyway. Or at least that's my understanding of it.

Also converting to higher specs in general would probably not improve the audio. Well, this is my educated guess

It would sound slightly worse going 96KHz.
