ape v 3.99 not read by dmc

Hi:

I got some .ape files, version 3.99, that won't open in dmc.

When I first got the files, they wouldn't play in Winamp, so I went to Mnkey's Audio & downloaded the newest codec.

Now I can play them in Winamp, but dmc still won't open them, although it works fine on earlier version .ape files.

Any help much appreciated.

yap, same problem here.
it actually looks like it's doing something, HD led on all the time, but it won't proceed from zero % and it doesn't produce the target file.

Click Beta section on this forum, there is an updated monkey codec.

Yikes!

Just re-downloadedfrom beta section of forum & re-tried Monkey's Audio Release 7, version 3.99.

Now dmc won't open my older ape test file either.

There are issues with this codec and Windws 95/98/ME they are being investigated.

Yep...I drive a clunker....a 400 Mhz Celeron running 98 1st edition!

Monkeys Audio Release 7 _Beta 2_ (in beta section of forum) fixed my problems!

yes just d/l the beta ape codec, and works fine (in win xp)
