Converting .shn to .wav or .mp3

Really having trouble here

Trying to convert my .shn files to wav files or mp3 files..it really doesnt matter

I get this error
The CODEC required to decompress 'C:\Documents and Settings\****\Desktop\torrents\bobmarley.5-21-1977.shn\disk1\d1Track01.shn' could not be opened.

I have the shorten codec from the codec palace and it still doesnt work..
I tried doing .shn to wav and .shn to mp3 and they both dont work..
What am i doing wrong

Try take a wave file, convert it to shorten, then back to wave, does that work?

yes,it works,i'm doing it right now. If it is a lossless prcedure,then there is no loss,right.
