Could be your CD drive is not able to 'rip', not all can.

Lite-on DVD +-R../ +-RW...cant rip?
I find that hard to believe...but...
I have uninstalled and reinstalled and
still get the same problems.
I'll have to look up the exact specs of the drive
to see if thats the case.

I think something from windows update may have hosed dbpoweramp. Mine used to work flawlessly and now doesn't at all. This is on two different PCs with two different Plextor drives. I've uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled but still get the codec decompression error.

must be a bug cause I cant get it to work on any

You could always try other CD rippers just to check - EAC and CDex

tried that...musicmatch works fine...

I'm using the new iTunes 4.5. Seems to work pretty good. I really liked DBPowerAmp though.
