    cd track to mp3

When I try to rip a cd track to mp3 and send to desktop, I get the following error:

The CODEC required to decompress 'D:\Track01.cda' could not be opened.
Unable to access CD Drive 'D:\Track01.cda'

I have tried using Audio input also, but nothing happens. It just says: Insert Audio CD... (it isn't recognizing the cd in my drive)

I have Win98SE and I've tried 2 different cd drives. Please advise. Thanks!

It could be that you need to configure the CD Audio Input program to look at the correct cd drive. Click on the Options button and select the appropriate drive.

If no go, look Support >> Audio CD Input

run the ASPI checking program and update if required.

I ran the ASPI checking program and updated aspi. The checker now says I'm up to date and the program works great. However, I now get the following Windows warning. Is this anything that I need to fix? Will something else on my system now not work properly or is this a message to ignore? Please advise. Thanks again.

          System File Warning:
The following system files have been replaced with older versions by a program you recently ran. Some windows functionality may not run correctly with these files installed.

It is warning about those files (Windows wants you to use the older version that was not working). I would ignore it (it only pops up once? or all the time?).

It pops up everytime I start my computer or load software. It doesn't bother me though, I just want to make sure something else won't be affected. Also, its saying that I put an older version on my computer? Anyway just curious if I had caused a problem for another program, etc. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Apart from the message it will not cause any problems (you could perhaps look for the ASPI files (windows will have a backup copy somewhere), if you find its backup copy and delete it then it cannot complain.
