MusicConverter.exe - Entry Point Not Found

"The procedure entry point WMCreateSyncReader could not be located in the dynamic link library WMVCore.DLL"

I've only recieved this problem when running Windows XP PRO. I didn't get any errors when I was running Windows 2000.

I downloaded the latest version of dbpowerAMP and I still got the error.

I checked to see if I was miss the file WMVCore.DLL but I wasn't.
What is the problem? What is there I can do to fix it?

I appreciate any help you can offer.

    Thanks,

    Clayton Roth

Re: MusicConverter.exe - Entry Point Not Found

Hm... I've tried all procedures, uninstalled, reinstalled, reinstalled the codecs, deleted everything and installed again... oh and rebooted my computer about a gazillion times... and bashed the keyboard to oblivion...

It still won't work with the damn wma files...

Now i suspect it might have something to do with the fact that my windows media player is the version that comes with windows XP originally... No updates or anything...

Now i'm not the one to bitch about stuff usually, but is there anything i could have done wrong in the proccess of installing codecs? The sequence, the version, the location? Anything?

Are you trying to convert DRM protected WMA files?

        If so read here:
I downloaded dMC software and the codecs tonight and installed all. I am when I try to convert from .wma to .wav I get this error "wma' is encrypted which dMC is not able to decode." I am using windows XP home edition. any help would be appreciated.

Or are you having an "Entry Point Not Found" Problem

If i right-click a file and select "convert to..." then it tells me that i need to download the codec.

If i run the MusicConverter.exe it gives me the "entry not found" error...

And no, the files are not protected.

          Any ideas?

Did you try installing the Windows Media System Codecs? There is a link to the WMP 9 System Codecs on the WMA Codec download page.

Re: MusicConverter.exe - Entry Point Not Found

              I've done this:

              *** Follow these 3 steps ***
              1. Windows Media Audio v9 System Codecs (3.8MB)
              2. WMA v9 Codec Release 2 (260KB)
              3. Reboot computer (full shutdown, not hibernate, suspend or sleep)

And after that, i've also installed this one:

              WMA v9.1 Codec Release 1 (5.7MB)

              Still nothing...

"F:\Progs\dbpoweramp\" is the location where i installed the program originally, so anything that i installed additionaly went into the same folder...

Try reinstalling everything back to C:\Program Files\Illustrate

Can you install the 9.1 release? it has the system codecs built in.

I reinstalled the converter, but somehow i can't install the 9.1. When i try to, it stops somewhere in the middle and gives me the message that it can't decompress something from the temporary folder and then another error msg:

This installation file appears to be corrupted. Error whilst installing 'wmfdist95.exe'

                        Great... More problems :|

Try redownloading the codec and trying again.
