    Mp3 decompression codec does not work

    When I try to convert mp3 files to ANY other format I always receive the following error message;

    The CODEC required to decompress 'D:\Music\Artist_Track01.mp3' could not be opened.

    All other audio file encoding programs I have do not have a problem with any of the mp3 files I have on my computer. dBpowerAMP Music Converter will convert any other file types I have eg; .wav .ogg .wma etc however the fact I cannot covert mp3 files with release r10 when r9 worked fine is becoming increasingly annoying.
    I have tried converting files with various different bit rates & different mp3 formats but I have not been able to convert 1 single .mp3 file yet.

    Can anybody help with this.

    What version of windows are you using? Do you have any problems converting files to mp3?

      My operating system is Windows XP professional edition with service pack 1a installed & all other relevant updates.

      Dbpoweramp will convert other audio file formats to mp3 or mp3pro without any difficulty, the coverted files are perfectly fine. It is just when I try to convert an mp3 file to another format (eg; .wav) that I encounter problems.
      I have tried uninstalling dbpoweramp and all codecs addons etc. removing all traces from the registry & system restore files etc then reinstalling it. However I still end up with the same problem.

      Any advice will be gratefully received.
