Regarding VBR .mp3s, I am aware that some encoders (for ex. FhG) do not write Xing VBR headers correctly, which can result in rather odd time and bit-rate displays and/or seek bar errors in some media players.
However, I have on a few occasions seen this occur in Lame .mp3s... most recently, after recommending dBpowerAMP to a friend. When I play the .mp3s he created, the bit rate in Winamp displays as 203,201,199,etc. rather than 192,224,256,etc. and the .mp3s continue to play beyond the track length displayed.
Any idea what the problem might be? Thanks for any help you can offer.
