    Error: CODEC decompression error fo

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't be bothered to wade thru 81 pages of forum to find the answer:

I am trying to convert WMA to MP3 and get the message
    "CODEC decompression error fo"
about a quarter the way into the covertion.
I have downloaded the WMA converter CODEC.
    How do I fix this?

And if everybody was too lazy to check FAQ, which is what it's designed for, Spoon and his devoted team would have no time at all to develop the great program which has already been presented to us, FREE!! Spend some time in FAQ, and you'll most likely learn more about dB poweramp and it's many facilities, in addition to the answer to your present problem.

A little more information would be useful.

Which version of Windows are you using?
Which, if any, version of Windows Media Player do you have installed.?

I'm using Win 98 and my Win Media Player is Version 7.01, though I hardly use it to listen to audio files. I usually listen to music with either MusicMatch Jukebox or with the audio player in Kazaa, though I have recently uninstalled Kazaa, but that was after I experienced the problem.

Which version of the WMA codecs have you installed? Version 7?

Do you know which version of WMA was used to create the files you are trying to play? You might have to install a more up to date version of wma.

Sounds like the file is corrupt.
