Converting a song being played on same PC

Is this possible to convert a song being played on MP3 player or RealPlayer into MP3 format. For example if we log on to a live radio, can we convert this sound into WAV or MP3? Thanks.

Probably, if your sound card supports it (most do). Use the Auxiliary Input utility with the source set to StereoMixer (or similar), then play the file.
