FLAC codec interfering with Macromedia Flash

How can I edit dbPowerAMP's list of registered file types? Since I installed the FLAC converter, it now interprets and file ending in .FLAC or .FLA as compressed audio. But Macromedia Flash files are also .FLA.

Now when I use Explorer to try to move, rename or open a Flash file, dbPowerAMP attempts to open the popup window and the computer freezes, needing a reboot.

how can I reconfigure dbPowerAMP to register only FLAC for audio, and to UN-register FLA files from its list? I have tried searching the Windows Registry to do this, but find no way of accomplishing this.

Barring this, how can I uninstall the FLAC codec from dbPowerAmp without ahving to uninstall and reinstall the whol program?

    Any suggestions welcomed!

Thanks. Except there is no menu item for "File Associations". I'm using version 4.2.1.0

The only way would be to either uninstall the flac codec, or switch off that shell enhancement (in dMC Configuration uncheck 'Popup info tips in explorer'

Thanks. That did fix the computer freezing problem. It's still kind of odd to find on right-click of Flash files that I have the option of converting them to WAVEs. But that I can live with.

          I appreciate the help here.

[COLOR=Navy]Just an FYI... The same thing happened to me... unfortunately, being a Flash developer, I felt it necessary to uninstall dbpoweramp for the time being. I'm running win2000 and basically, the converter attempts to open the properties window, generates an exlorer.exe error and crashes the file browser. No reboot, thank god, but the problem cleared up as soon as I uninstalled db converter (I immediately suspected the flac to be involved).

Reassociating the fla files in explorer did nothing... I first tried associating them with something basic, like notepad... no beans. I noticed the problem still happened when I used the keyboard to move to the file in icon view, but it did not happen with the keyboard in list view. I hope this helps... I'll reinstall db soon ... I love the converter...I wish I had read this first and attempted choosing associations within the program... I'll try it soon and let you know how it goes.
