Re: Windows 2000 unpredictable hangs requiring reboot
My page file is on drive C:. Its minimum size is 384MB. Its maximum size is 768MB. There are 1,765MB available.
I see exactly the same hangs when I use the Windows Media Player 9.00.00.3075 instead of dAP. There is a great deal of evidence that dAP is not at fault.
Ever since I looked for driver updates as Spoon suggested, I've been almost certain that my hangs are the fault of my audio card driver (file adm8820.sys, in particular). This is a Microsoft driver. No update is available at this time. I have looked and failed to find any way to even inform Microsoft of THEIR problem.
I am resigned to living with this Microsoft bug. I have little interest in investigating dAP further, but I would be happy to assist Microsoft or anyone interested in fixing adm8820.sys.
Thanks, Spoon.
