It is not possible to update encoders on the Mac.

macOS High Sierra is a last macos supported with the current release.

As of late 2023, oldest supported Mac OS in all dBpoweramp apps is 10.13 "high sierra".
Latest dBpoweramp release has been specifically tested and confirmed working.
We're try to maintain support for 10.13 for as long as development tools allow us without breaking something else.
