Is it possible to adjust thread priority? My CPU is obliterated by dB. I see some old discussion references to the function in Power Pack but can't find the option (Reference MacOSX)

What Mac model is it exactly and how do you see that your CPU is being obliterated?
If it's just causing excessive heat, that's normal, thread priority adjustments would have no effect on it - you want to limit the number of active encoder threads instead (Options > Encoding > Using N Encoders).
