M4b converter

Hey there, I just stumbled across this forum and I hope you can help. I have some downloaded files from iTunes. They are stored as m4b files????? I would like to convert them to MP3 so I can play them on my MP3 player. It isnt like I want to share them on the internet, I want to be able to listen to them!!! Any help would be appreciated. Is there a codec that I should download that will help????

I think you can just rename them to mp3 and they will play
