M4a to mp3 nightmare

hiya guys, im trying to convert 400 M4a files to mp3 to be read on my dj denon prime go mixer. i get this error everytime i try to convert one ..

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\m4a\CamelPhat, Yannis - Hypercolour (ARTBAT Remix) [Audio].m4a' to 'C:\Users\Andy\Desktop\m4a\CamelPhat, Yannis - Hypercolour (ARTBAT Remix) [Audio].mp3'
Error opening tag reader. [m4aFile::Open]


ive tried audacity and it needs a plugin, ie tried ojosoft and it doesnt support the m4a files i have. some m4a files will process fine, but others just fail every time


please help

m4a is the file extension of mpeg4 files, which is a video container format. This can include different codecs. This is the reason why some files can be converted and sime not.

thanks for the reply .

pioneere plays them with no issues now i have 367 files that wont play and wont be converted into mp3. any advice would be greatly appreciated

Perhaps the files are corrupted?
