Hi Folks:
I'm quite a novice with computers, etc.
I have successfully downloaded .mp2 files from the Internet and converted them to .wav files using the dbpowerAmp Music Converter program, while logged on as user with full administrative permissions on my XP computer.
I have tried to set up a new user, and grant permission to use the Internet and use the music files folder and also to use the dbpowerAmp Music Converter program, just as I am able to do.
The new user has no difficulty using the Internet, downloading .mp2 files, and playing them back via Real Player. The new user can also access the dbpowerAmp Music Converter. However, when an attempt is made to convert a file from .mp2 to .wav, the "number" of files to convert never changes from "0" to the expected number of desired files, even though they are selected by the program. Clicking on the "convert" button accomplishes no conversion, although there is a brief display of the "conversion in process" screen.
So..what do I have to do to grant permission to actually convert files, and not just see the dbpowerAmp Music Converter program.
I'd appreciate any help/suggestions. You may also e-mail me directly, off this forum, at wihs@comcast.net.
Thanks very much.
