I thought that I had solved an earlier problem with APEv2 tags, but I am still having trouble. Here is the problem.
A Monkey's Audio file with an APEv2 tag poses no problems; in MMC and in dAP the correct info is shown in the proper places. If I convert the same file to an mp3 file and add only an APEv2 tag, then MMC and dAP show wrong info. In MMC and dAP, the artist shows correctly, but the title shows as Album - track# - Track title. Should MMC not read the correct info from an APEv2 file regardless of what it is attached to?
The popup shows that the Monkey's Audio file info is OK - the APEv2 tag info shows up. The popup for the mp3 file does not show any tag info. The APE tag is there, since I can see it using a text editor, but it appears that MMC cannot read it.
Here is my DMC configuration info.
Release 10.1
Compression codecs
Monkey's audio Release 7 using Monkey's 3.98a1
mp3(Lame) Lame version 3.93.1 (Dibrom's switches)
I have changed the mp3.dll file to an older version in order to properly read some ID3v1 tags. I can't see why this would affect APEv2 tags.
I think dBPowerAmp is a great program, but this is an annoying feature. Any ideas to solve this problem would be appreciated.
