MP3s coverted to WMA play too fast

I converted my MP3s to WMA for use on my RCA LYRA MP3 player. When I play the song I hear nothing but the timer counts up very fast, as if I'm fast forwarding the song. Any idea why these conversions have this recognition/speed problem?

Try playing it in Windows Media Player, if it plays ok then there is something wrong with the Lyra wma playback (perhaps a firmware update?).

Yeah it plays fine on my PC. Not sure what to do now?
