encoding speed >> win2k

Hi,
I have problems with encoding speed. I have PIII600, 320MB and win2k, CD 50x...
I changed settings CD communicates from built-in to NT i/o device and still it works sloooow about 1:1 speed :(
Installation of Adaptec ASPI drivers 4.71 then Nero's wnaspi32.dll didn't help as well.
What to do??

there is a Nero Drive Speed you can install.
