Power Pack - Sound Grabber

Successfully recorded 1st three tracks on an album but they are such that they all blend together (artists intent). Downloaded the Power Pack and used Sound Grabber to isolate the first track from the rest. Now, I can't seem to go back to the extra-long original and slice the last 3 min. or so!
How do I continue to 'butcher' the original until I have 3 separate files???

P.S. Really liking everything I've tried so far - save for very slow conversion speeds...tend to still use WMP for most ripping, but other than that - keep it up!

Audio CD Input >> Power >> DSP Effects and clear the list.

Yes, I can see that this solution would be great for solving the slow conversion problem, but how do I go about slicing up the one long track into three smaller ones?

If you are ripping a CD click 'Rip as One' as this is a better way of selecting part tracks.

Thanks for the help, but I think I've found a great solution to both:

1. Rip at 128 kbs w/ CBR - MUCH faster - haven't burned an audio
CD yet, but hope the quality won't be terrible. (Used to 192 kbs.)

2. This wonderful little program: MP3DirectCut
(Can be found at - http://www.rz.uni-frankfurt.de/~pesch/)
- it butchered my Stevie Wonder in only a few seconds per, from
one long track to three!!

I'm a bit frustrated to've paid for the P.Pack and NOT be able to
use many of its features, however...was I missing something, here?

what feature exactly can't you use?

Conversions were taking way too long, which is why I reduced to 128 kbs. Wanted to use normalize features but as Spoon suggests - needed
to remove ALL DSP effects in order to not have to wait 10 -20 for 4 min. of mp3 music from CD! (Also problems with the Sound Grabber feature...)

I'm very pleased with the whole package, overall, but not quite sure if the
P.Pack is doing all that much for me!

I know the adaptive normalize can be very slow, are you using that or normal normalize.

can you recommend any basic editing programs - to clean-up
LP recordings, etc.?

i just did a test. "tea for the tiller man" album. total 36:46.

1. powerpack options: rip to ram, auto, rip and encode, no jitter correction.

2. adaptive dsp affect with default values.

3. rip to ogg VB/192

result with adaptive normalization turned on was 16:37 entire album.

result with adaptive off was, 6:35

my machine: an old AMD, cpu = 1Ghz 512 ram.

is that considered slow? your result did sound very slow for only 4 min's though. so i suggest there is something else causing the slow down?

i will do a mp3 lame/cb/128 and see if the results are much different.

with adaptive on was 14:45
with adaptive off was 4:54

Yes, I've stopped used Adaptive Normalize and all is well...
Cool Edit is too much $ for the few things I'd like to try, so
will keep looking.
Tried to play mp3 song from a site - automatically opened
dBPowerAMP w/ a .pls file - wouldn't play. Yes, I understand
streaming isn't currently supported - any plans for updates
soon? What to do in meantime?

it apparently removes noise as well.
