converting 24-bit wav to 16-bit wav

Hi there...

Been using dBpoweramp for a long time now. Love it.

I tried to convert a 24-bit wav file to a 16-bit wav file and the result was a file that had bursts of noise throughout it. Might you have any suggestions as to what happened?

Have you checked the source file? does the 24 bit file have this noise?
