    Having Trouble Ripping

I have a Cd that i've been having trouble ripping. It's an Israeli CD. It works fine in CD players. However it says it can't read the files because it may be scratched. However, I did notice there seems to be a puddle under the plastic in the cd, yet it works with normal CD players. Any suggestions (it does it with all ripping programs.)

Does your PC allow you to play the CD using dAP (or WMP)? Have you tried it on a different PC?

There could be some sort of protection present on the disc. Have you tried examining it with ClonyXXL which may let you know if it is protected.

As far as i can say , there is not protected cd here.

        Try to clean it

Most of the time a dry cleaning will do
If not a cleaning with a special liquid does miracle...well kind of

You may as well clean your laser eye on your drive with a special cd

It gives me some trouble when i play cd's on my computer. WMP works but sometimes just crashes if i switch tracks, and winamp plays for a bit and then stops.

That's for all cds, but with this cd specifically it has trouble recognizing it as an audio cd unless i put it in a normal cd player play for a few seconds sand then put it in here.

              CODEC decompression error for '\\CdRom\Track01.cda'
Unable to Rip track - make sure correct Ripping method is selected and CD Drive supports digital audio extraction.

That's the error im getting now. I ripped several CD's today even today. Any suggestions?

Have you tried using ISOBuster which can be used to extract data from damaged CD/DVDs?

I haven't tried it myself but it looks like you can extract tracks to wav files.

I tried ISObuster but it stops during the process and asks me if i want to retry or replace some data with 000's or other things. Any ideas anyone?

Ok, sorry for all the posts but this is driving me crazy, I installed cd to mp3 ripper, that works except within the first 10 seconds there a gap in the music. I also instlaled a ASPI thing, and it says i have the four files, but clonyxxx still says i have no aspi filter. The thing with the gap in the msuic also happens to the files when I use WMP.

I really need help with this...

Please guys... any help with this would be appreciated so much!

When I try to rip my cds with dB Audio CD Input, after I click the button to rip, it says:

The output file 'C:\Ripped Albums\01 DJ Shadow - Best Foot Forward.mp3' could not be opened.

This is really weird because I've been using this program for years, and it just started doing this yesterday. The "Test Conversion" function works fine, but when I actually try to rip, it gives me that error message for all the tracks!! please help!

                            Thanks!

Try as a test ripping wave files to c:\ (no folders).
