wma problems

i converted wma files into a better quality of 98, 44khz, stereo vbr everything was good but then i converted mp3 files into wma 98, 44khz, stereo vbr and the file size want up the roof for exemple: a 5:04 minute track is now 13.2 mb!!! what happend??? i converted both the wma tracks and the mp3 files to the same quality only the mp3 files size want threw the roof what the **** happend???

The answer is VBR, it is variable (mp3 is already compressed differently, it is not a good idea to convert lossy format >> lossy format) try a lower quality setting.
