Converting Hi-Rez to CD quality

Hi,

I have been told that it's possible to create lower rez files from higher ones. Essentially, I just want to make the lower rez (CD quality) copies so that they can be played from the USB input in my car music player.
Can dbPoweramp do this? If so, how. The less technical the answer the better, my eyes and mind glaze over with too much technical talk.

Yes, include the DSP Effects:

Resample (set to 44KHz)
Bit depth (set to 16 bit)
