Which format to rip to from CD?

Which format do you suggest i rip to direct from cd? I was thinking mp3 or mp4. If i make it mp4 and i leave it on "standard", what bit rate is that? If i chose the kbps what should i chose? I generally rip mp3's in 256kbps, is this neccesary with mp4? Or would standard or 128kpbs produce similar results? Thanks for the help

That really depends on you personal choice. I rip to mp3 at 192 kbps becuase it offers pretty good combination of good quality and the files aren't too large. The mp3's also allow me to listen to them on my car stereo and on the computer at work. Review Spoon's audio to find your choice.

Mp4 is better than mp3, the 'standard' setting is VBR.
