For the four that you have, the spotlights are:

    Lame makes great quality mp3s
    Blade makes gapless mp3s
Gogo makes mp3s really fast (although its a bit unstable)
Personally I'm not too familiar with Xing

If speed isn't an issue, go with Lame.

Xing is garbage, stay away from it.

If you are encoding to MP3 then LAME Variable Bitrate is the only way to go.

With dBpowerAMP Music Converter select "Mp3 (LAME)" then click the advanced options button and select "Variable Bitrate" next go to the Preset: Quality menu and select either Alt Preset Standard (hydrogenaudio.org recommended setting) or Alt Preset Extreme (my personal prefered setting) now you will create great sounding MP3's.

One other thing is that I recommend that you use Exact Audio Copy in Secure Mode with no C2 to rip your original CD's to .WAV and then encode that .WAV as outlined above.

Exact Audio Copy is for quality easily the best CD ripper available, it is free of charge from www.exactaudiocopy.de
