wma to mp3, problems w/ codec installation

I am trying to convert a wma file to mp3, so I downloaded the codec installation (already have a WMP version 9, so didn't download that attachment). In trying to install codec, i get error "The procedure entry point WMCreatesyncReader could not be located in the dynamic link library WMVCore.DLL". and installation would not complete. What do I do???!?!?

You need the big install also.

What is the "BIg Install?" The error message I am getting is....
"To support audio type "windows Media Audio" a codec must be installed...."
I downloaded the first of the Windows Media Audio v.9 that the webpage I was sent to showed but am still getting this error message.
