    Copy Controlled CD's

When I try to rip tracks from Copy Controlled Cd's with DMC Audio CD Input I can rip all tracks except the first one. The program recognize it well but it can't extract the track. A error message appears:
    "CODEC decompression error for '\\CdRom\Track01.cda'
Unable to Rip track - make sure correct Ripping method is selected and CD Drive supports digital audio extraction."

I repeat: this only happens with the first track of each Copy Controlled CD. What should I do??

I had the same problem as you, but managed to solve it by using some sort of a workaround.

First select to rip the 2nd track of the CD, after it has finished ripping, *immediately* start to rip the 1st track.

From a technical point of view, I am not sure why this works. But it seems to me that I had to get the drive spinning at a certain speed before I could rip the first track.

Also note that this workaround only worked after I *downgraded* my drive's firmware (rather significantly too, from 3.5 to 2.7, all the other versions in between didn't work). Again, if you ask why, I don't know

well you could test your theory and use the "spin up drive first" feature and see if it works.

Just tried it, and it doesn't work. Oh well, there goes my theory. Any care to suggest other possible explanations?

Try Audio CD Input >> Options Menu >> Standard CD Emulation >> Audio cd Paramaters and enter a offset of say 1000 ms.

Nope, doesn't work. Still had to use the workaround described above to rip track 1 of a CDS200 CD.

I forget... does dmc allow for analog rips.. like the evil Musicmatch does?
