Illegal File Format?

This is a bit strange. I had an album I ripped some time ago using dMC that neither Playcenter nor Notmad will copy to the NJB3. Playcenter reports "Illegal file format". MP3 Tag Studio won't open the files either. dAP plays the track with no problem.

I re-ripped and enoded the album (using dMC/LAME) and it made no difference. As an additional test I've just tried to play one of the tracks using Windows Media Player and that also says it's an illegal file format yet, once again, dAP plays it with no problem.

I'm a bit stuck now! Any ideas?

I bet it is an ID Tag issue - look at the popup info it will tell you what version the id tag is.

It's ID3V1 which is the same format I always use so I thinkit must be something else.

I've just become a 'member' of the forum. Go to www.dictionary.com and look at explanation 2b for 'member'.

It was just a lighthearted remark as 'junior member' is probably worse!
