Cutting Into Segments

Hi, just registered to this forum.

Is there any way you could cut the music into segments?
Example, the music is 3 minutes long and you only want to play 1 minute.

Has this been posted? Anybody care to direct me to the appropriate thread?

i have a heard lot of users are using this free software here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
for chopping up audio files.

is this what you mean/want?
