    SHN Codec Installation problem

Going through some old music files that are SHN encoded. Wanted to convert them, but did not have the SHN codec installed. After downloading, I received an error, just a general error message, during installation. I have windows 10 system and have version 16.6 of dBpoweramp installed. Tried to install a second time, and it did say I have the SHN codec installed but same error message: 'Error whilst running 'C:\Program Files(X86)\Illustrate\dBpoweramp\dBConfig.exe'.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?

It is 32 bit only, you would have to uninstall dBpoweramp, and force the 32 bit version of dBpoweramp to install. Then when done uninstall all and reinstall 64 bit version.

    See:

The 64 bit release of dBpoweramp will only work correctly with 64 bit codecs. In Codec Central the codecs which are indicated as 32 bit only will not work with the 64 bit version of dBpoweramp. CD Writer CD Writer cannot be compiled to 64 bit, it is 32 bit only.

Thanks Spoon ... sounds like too much work. Maybe these old files aren't worth the effort unless I find several that need converting.

You might just want to install foobar2000 and the shn conversion component. You can use this to convert your shn to FLAC without having to mess about with your dbpa installation.
        Install foobar2000 from here:

Then install the shn conversion component from here:
