Mp3 Tag names no longer readable Release 10

Release 10 of dMC includes UTF-8 tag encoding, whilst this is good for international support, it is not good however if the mp3 player cannot read UTF-8 tags, or your existing tags are international local page (non-unicode). Until a new beta version of dMC is released with the option to switch UTF-8 off, if you are having problems, save this file:

    into C:\program files\illustrate\dbpoweramp\multiplayer\input

    overwriting the original.

Do you have a rewind like this for WMA files too? I am converting WMA to LAME MP3 and am still getting UTF-8 in the MP3s while it is not in the WMA.

BTW: it seems as though little Windows software likes UTF-8. Even explorer shows both bytes in native ASCII.

My error. It is working once I actually deleted the old DLL (not just renamed). XP must be tricky about following DLLs enven when they are renamed.

Now I just need a utility to fix all the ones I already converted

      Thanks

would this also help fix the problems with i-tunes reading the tag info on my WMA files which I've converted to AAC and then renamed .m4a?

        Thanks,

No, different format. For iTunes it needs AAC files in .mp4 containers (so make sure you have the mp4 codec).

If you find something to convert these please let me know. I just burned several cd's with albums using the new version and now see that my mp3 car cd changer cannot read the id3 tags on them. I've replaced the mp3.dll for future rips but would like to convert my existing cd's from unicode back to what they were before. Not really sure what to search for either..most of the utils I found convert TO unicode..not from.

Install Release 10 dll, load them into dBpowerAMP Audio Player (My Music Collection), reboot, replace the dll with Release 9 dll, then from MMC and select all the files >> right click >> Advanced >> Rewrite ID Tags.

dMC with the Mp4 codec will convert WMA >> Mp4 with the tags.

The beta version of MP3.dll is causing the following...

                        Error signature
                        AppName: musicconverter.exe AppVer: 4.2.1.0 ModName: mp3.dll
                        ModVer: 4.0.0.51 Offset: 000187a8

... is there another version of MP3.dll?

                          IMHO, Mp3Tag v1.x shouldn't use UTF-8 ,
coz, unicode supported only since MP3Tag v2.x

In DMC version 10 beginning..... the tag always display the Tradition Chinese in strange code.....I try dl DMC 10.1 , backup the mp3.dll of 10.1,then use the mp3.dll of 9.....it works.......go try.......hope can always support international fonts in all tags and all further versions....thx
