Music converter (16.6) messing up name tag (flac-->wav)

I'm finding that when I convert flac files to wav, I get special characters in the file name that are not there for flac.

In the control panel, I have set
Config==>Advanced==>Filename restricted characters==>restore default + ANSI characters only in filename

The attached shows the names for the flac (before) and wav (after) as seen in the HQPlayer program.
Also attached is the library.xml file produced for the flac and wav files.

    Thanks

edit: I don't think this is new in 16.6 since I see this in 16.2 also (and possibly earlier, haven't checked)

It seems that the name tagging problem is ID3 but List gets the name correct. List+ID3 also fails converting to WAV by messing up the song title.

The tags will not be Unicode, right click >> Edit ID Tags

LIST cannot store Unicode characters, instead it will store '?'

understood, but why are the ID3 tags for WAV messed up when the FLAC ID3 tags were fine?
LIST is not an ideal solution, for the reasons you state, but why isn't ID3 (or the default ID3+LIST)
getting the song title correct and adding special characters when it should be doing replacements to name
          the song titles 'legal'

Please upload one of the wave files to dropbox and personal message me the link.
