Hello. Long time dBpoweramp user - first post
I'm trying to convert a WavPack .wv file to FLAC. It's a rip of one of my SACD's. My mate who has an old PS3 did the rip for me. Previously he gave me .dsf files, but for this last round of rips, he's given me .wv files :(
He is away on holidays at the moment - hence this post...
My original dBPoweramp v14.2 was giving a general error when performing this operation.
I decided to purchase the latest release 16.5 [64-bit].
I'm still getting an error, but now there is a nugget of information.
Error converting to FLAC, 'C:\Users\...wv' to 'C:\Users\...flac'
not configured to handle DSD WavPack files! [clDecoder_WavPack::Open]
I have installed the latest DSD & WavPack codecs.
Perhaps I should have asked this before making a purchase, but is it possible to configure dBpoweramp and/or codecs to support this?
Reading some more, Since v5, WavPack supports "all modern audio file formats including Microsoft WAV/BWF/RF64, Sony Wave64, Apple CAF, Philips DSDIFF, and Sony DSF (all with no size limitations)"
I don't want to convert to FLAC at all. I actually want to convert the .wv file to DSD in a .dsf container. Is that possible?
So: Can dBpoweramp handle DSD WavPack files?
Can such files be converted to .dsf?
Regards
Mark
