Re: dbpoweramp will not convert bitrate

Please can you provide more details, like:

What version and platform/OS is dBpoweramp installed on?

What format are you converting from and to?

What errors messages do you get, if any?

Re: dbpoweramp will not convert bitrate

I am running Win7 pro. I am trying to convert mp3's from 320 bitrate to 128 bitrate. There is no error message. The file just stays at 320 bitrate. I have already allowed dbpoweramp through the windows firewall and my AV.

Re: dbpoweramp will not convert bitrate

When converting, what have you set in Output To in the dBpoweramp Music Converter window?

Re: dbpoweramp will not convert bitrate

The source files are in a folder on an external drive called unfinished downloads. This is the same drive where all my music is located. There is a separate folder for every artist, but I don't move them to the artist's folder until they're edited. i.e. renamed, tagged, converted and sometimes cleaned for quality.

You have any DSP effects? such as conditional encode?

I did have DSP effects, but I removed them in an effort to get dbpoweramp to work. No luck there either.

Run dBpoweramp Control Center >> Configuration 'Advanced Settings' and scroll to the end and enable the Debug option. Convert 1 file and post the results from the log at the end (they will show in notepad after conversion).

"Encoder Settings: Constant Bit Rate 320 kbps (Free-Format)"

This says that the program thinks the options are set to 320kbps Free format, select the CBR option, not free format.

There lies the problem. I have it set to CBR 128 bitrate. Evidently it's not accepting my settings.

And it doesn't create a temp file like it always did.
