ID3 Tag issue when converting to AAC(.m4a)

I have tried searching all over the forum and I can't seem to find why I lose my tag information in iTunes once I convert an .mp3 to an .m4a. I can still see the ID Tag information in Explorer but iTunes has all of the fields blank except for the track name.

I know that lossy --> lossy is not advisable. This is for iPod listening only (to save space) - all PC based music will stay in its original lossy format until I get around to re-ripping.

I have dMC, dMC File Selector, PowerPack, aacenc, etc. all loaded but everything leads back to a blank ID Tag. What am I doing wrong?

If it is .mp4 then iTunes might not like it, if you rename it to .m4a then iTunes (4.1.1) should like it.

I changed the Options.txt file straight away so that it would automatically name the files as .m4a. iTunes recognizes the songs but not the tags once dMC has converted.

If you hold the mouse over the file do the tags show up in explorer?

        Are you using iTunes 4.1.1?

Yes, when I hold the mouse over the files in explorer the tags are intact.

          I am using iTunes 4.1.1.54

Any ideas? All Tag information works fine when I convert with iTunes itself. Just not when I use dMC.

I think iTunes does not like the order of the tags, try Ripping a CD to m4a, does it get the tags right?
