New dMC Release taking a battering

    On Downloads ratings:

People do not dig very deep:

"It says it would create MP4 files but it does not. It seem to create MP3 file only. It seems like it is free program, but as in fact they want $20 dollars for advanced features such as MP4 compression. "

"it does not offer what it says"
Does not work with WMA files, only mp2, mp3, smd, mpga mpg, mpa, mpx, wav

It could do with a few corrections posting (point to codec central), to vote:

Re: New dMC Release taking a battering

I get that kind of situation at work every day.

The worst I've seen so far is our accountant generated a report from the accounting software. The software creates TXT files. Well, she was panicking because she couldn't find the report she exported and called me.

So I log on her machine (from mine, she's still at her desk and I'm still at mine), I go to the folder and there the file is. Anyway, to make a story short, she was looking for the file from Microsoft WORD!! grrrr And it was not the first time she did that.

Anyways, some people just don't even try. They install, don't even check the user guide or even the quick "getting started" guide that's sometimes included, and then they wonder why they can't get anything to work.. like they are geniuses or something.. sheeesh!

..... hmmm sorry, I'm a little grumpy tonight... 13 hours straight at work does that to a guy :vmad:

My vote isn't being showed either. On the other hand, even if it does take 4-6 days for a post to appear, how come the users who posted their comments a day after the program was released on cnet show up so fast?

dBpowerAMP Music Converter 10 has been reviewed by cnet now

                              Cnet.com
This otherwise standard audio-conversion utility offers convenient direct access to most functions from the right-click context menu. Making up for the fact that this alternative interface isn't handy for batch conversions, dBpowerAmp Music Converter provides a traditional interface for audio CD input. In our tests, Music Converter showed good speed. The extracting and conversion options are not numerous but will satisfy most users. The program can even rip some protected audio CDs. It queries CD information from the Web and can automatically create subfolders and name tracks. The free version doesn't let you edit ID tags. To keep the download size small, it only includes MP3 (LAME) and WAV codecs, though you can easily download and install additional components from the publisher's site. Most people who rip and convert audio files occasionally will find something to like about dBpowerAmp Music Converter.
dBpowerAMP was number 32 (last time I checked) on the top download list.
