Converting files with chinese or japanese characters

    Hi,

I'm trying to convert wma files to mp3 (and vice versa), the file names have chinese/japanese characters. My OS is english, but I have addon to see the names with no problem.

However, whenever I want to convert them, I got an error:
The file 'K:\????? - pupa\4@GLORY-??????-.wma' could not be opened.
    File converting does not exist.

Even though the files are okay, it seems like dbPAmp can't read the characters. Does dbPAmp support this at all? What can I do other than renaming all files to english only?

    Thanks.

Internally dBpowerAMP is non unicode, if the filenames are unicode this could cause problems.

That's too bad, hopefully this will be supported in the future. But this is a great program, can't complain. Thanks.

I have the same problem converting Japanese entitled files and have found no converter capable of turning my WMA lossless japanese songs into anything else. I am new to this converting stuff - would you explain the unicode problem or otherwise help me resolve this issue?

A program has to be configured internally to handle the filename, etc.

dMC R12 should be fully unicode compatible.
