    Chinese(?) characters in conversion information text

    Can anyone help with this query please?
    I have just converted a load of WAV files to M4A. The conversion information window shows that all the files passed verification but two of the files also had some Chinese-looking characters which none of the others had:

    Audio File Passed Verification
    &*28515;&*28781;&*25970;&*29555;&*25701;&*26144;&* 24946;&*25965;&*29728;&*28527;&*25120;&*26473;›& *13617;&*14646;&*13105;&*30240;&*11891;&*12576;&*1 2595;&*14384;&*8248;&*2573;&*28515;&*28781;&*25970 ;&*29555;&*25701;&*26144;&*24946;&*25965;&*29728;& *28527;&*25120;&*26473;›&*13105;&*14649;&*13872; &*30240;&*11891;&*12576;&*12595;&*14384;&*8248;&*2 573;

    and

    Audio File Passed Verification
    &*28515;&*28781;&*25970;&*29555;&*25701;&*26144;&* 24946;&*25965;&*29728;&*28527;&*25120;&*26473;›& *13619;&*8243;&*29558;*&*13362;‰&*2573;

    The tags look correct and the files seem to play ok. Is there an explanation for this and is it anything I should be worried about?
    Thanks.

    Perhaps make sure you are running the latest version of dBpoweramp as a first check.

        Maybe you can post a screenshot, showing the issue?

        Is this behaviour only happening when converting to m4a?

          Here's the screenshot. Not tried other conversion formats. Will do so today.

            Just tested them with FLAC conversion (the only other format which gives you verification info) and the text did not contain the same characters, so it must be a quirk of M4A conversion. Has anyone got any idea of what is going on? Maybe I can just safely ignore it?

              FYI, when I convert wav to apple lossless, I get the same info log, minus the Chinese(?) characters.

              For some more clues, try and copy info to the clipboard. Then go to bing translator webpage, set language to auto detect and paste. Remove the English and see if it can translate?

                You can also use Google Translator. (I do, because Bing's translations have often produced for me more fractured English than Google's.)

                  Please upload the wave file to dropbox and personal message me the link.

                    Re: Chinese(?) characters in conversion information text

                    Have tried a couple of translations but although there are some words in English they don't really make any sense. I have given the WAV files to Spoon to look at and will report back if an answer is found to this.
                    Thanks to all those that have replied!

                      Thanks for the file, I have been able to reproduce the issue and the next beta will fix it.
