Simultaneously ripping one CD while converting other files?

Possibly an absolutely dumb question, but, are there any dangers or drawbacks to the following scenario. . . .ripping a CD to AIFF while simultaneously batch converting other AIFF's to mp3, using the same hard-drive?

In other words, the hard drive is performing various data-write tasks at the same time, so could that workload possibly create errors in the ripped files (even though they're listed as having ripped "accurately")?

It should not matter, however SSD drives would be better than an older spinning HDD (as SSD does not have a seek time).
