    A bug in version 10

First of all, thank you very much for version 10! I realize we are past the beta stage but ... for version 11 perhaps ...

The bug: Special characters in tags get garbled when converting say from WMA lossless to MP3

The annoyance: when entering tages manually, there are instances where the song title covers the artist

I am sorry but I corrected my problem and reinstalled version 9 (so I am unable to reproduce the issue). Among others, there should be: ë, ä, ü, é, è ...

Ah what it will be, Release 10 writes the extra characters as UNICode 8, your mp3 player musn't be unicode 8 compatible (it is a standard).

Would it be possible to re-post release 9?

Have a look at the sticky message in this forum, you can save the old mp3 dll over the newer version.

I'm running into the same problem, but I usually go from FLAC to ogg vorbis. For example, using DMC to convert, Björk becomes Björk. But, not only my player has a problem, but DMC itself can't understand what it writes, apparently. What I mean is that if I hover the cursor over the file, or right click the file and choose "edit tag", it's DMC that's showing me "Björk".

                    Did you find a solution?

I have the same going from flac to mp3. The flacs are generated by EAC, and dMC cannot read special characters in the tags...

dMC R11 is better for tagging (from Beta Section), but it sounds like the flac codec will need to be updated. What type of tags are in the flac files?

Re: A bug in version 10

Just a normal FLAC-Tag (which is in ogg format, I think), containing Umlauts...

I'm willing to test a beta version - this is what keeps me from mass-converting my flac collection to MP3 at the moment!

Try the new dMC, it could be the new mp3 encoder helps (not 100% sure it is the flac decoder).

                            Nope, I already tried 11 Beta 1b.

The characters are already garbled when I let dMC show the tag in explorer...

Any more hints on this? Any date when we could expect a new flac plugin?
