Re: No Tag Info w/ MP4/AAC Codec

Great work! Thanks, changing the comment tag in MP3Tag worked for me also... all other tags showed up in iTunes after that.

Re: No Tag Info w/ MP4/AAC Codec

I've tried all the suggestions above and am VERY close to getting my WMA files with tags etc. into i-Tunes but the MP3Tag program will not recognize my converted mp4 files... they simp,y don't show up for me to edit. Any suggestions?

      Thanks,

not sure what the problem could be. one possible difference is that my .mp4 files had the extension .m4a rather than .mp4, accomplished as described on the Codec Central page for MP4 by editing the Options.txt file before converting in dbPowerAMP:

I can give a bit more information on this problem:

I was also able to successfully fix the tagging by modifying the comments accross the files using Mp3Tag. iTunes Imported them without a hitch after that.

But I wasn't able to do this with another bulktagger - Tag&Rename. When I tried to use this program, I wasn't able to modify the tags at all. It didn't give an error, it just wouldn't apply any changes. I surfed around message boards, and I found that others had this problem with Tag&Rename and said it was a problem with the files using the wrong "wrapper".

I'm not sure what that means exactly, but my guess is that Mp3Tag quietly fixes the wrapper problem automatically and that is why iTunes and Tag&Rename don't work. If the wrapper can be set correctly from the begining, would it fix this?

It is not the wrapper but rather the order of tags AFAIK, post to Apple, I cannot go out of my way to fix Apples bugs (every other program except iTunes read it right!).

You are probably right. I figured that since Tag&Rename also had a problem, it was not iTunes specific.

I downloaded the trial version of mp3Tag but it doesn't seem to support mp4/m4a files. How else can I change the tags so that iTunes can read them?
