    24-bit hi-res to lame v0

Hi all, I'm in the process of converting a substantial number of hi-res flac files (24-192, 24-96, 24-88.2, 24-44.1 et al) to lame vo 44.1 using the latest version of dbpoweramp. I have 2 questions:

    1. Is it wise to re-encode the flac directly to v0/44.1 using the dbpoweramp resampler in a one-step process? Or should I convert the 24-96 flac to 24-44.1 flac first, using the inhouse ssrc resampler, and THEN covert to lame v0 in a 2-step process?

    2. If resampling is indeed simpler from 96 to 48, and 88.2 to 44.1, should all 24/96, 24/192 and 24/48 files be converted to lame vo 48 khz instead? Or is the lame v0 OPTIMISED and TUNED to work best only with 44.1?

Thanks a ton, and eagerly waiting for your views.

It makes no difference to dBpoweramp if 1 step or 2 step, the results would be identical.

Resampling is not a simple division,, so it makes no difference if going 96 >> 44 or 96 >> 48.

Thanks a ton. But is lame V0 optimised for 44.1? Or is there nothing of the sort? Also, what would you recommend, 44.1 or 48 while converting?

I do not believe it is optimized for 44KHz, however I would choose this as it is the most common value used by players.

Thanks a ton. Glad to know I won't have to re-encode the converted ones.
