Overall audio quality has not changed for 3.100. mp3 still has its place, everything plays it and 320Kbps it will sound like AAC at any bitrate.

Spoon - reference your reply here - I'm experimenting with DBPoweramp at the moment and I can only see an option to go up to 240Kbps, how do I get it up to 320 which I've been used to using in iTunes?

      Many thanks

Switch to CBR (Constant bit rate).

So I can't do 320Kbps VBR like in iTunes?

            Re: New Lame Mp3 Version

320Kbps VBR does not make sense, as 320 is the maximum bitrate for standard mp3 files, so it would average down, that is what Lame is showing with the 240Kbps VBR, at certain times it would be 320kbps, at others it would be less. If iTunes is 320Kbps all the time, it is the same as CBR.
