I have upgraded from V14 (32 bit) to V16 (64 bit) and now want to use the AAC encoder, after installing the AAC encoder I can see the codec listed in the Music converter but it errors when trying to use it.
After reading several threads on the forum about this I tried the suggesting uninstall, running a reset cleanup program and re-installing, all to no avail. One suggestion was to install the 32bit dbpoweramp (apparently this worked for someone - but I wanted to get the 64 bit working.
The issue I suspect is that encoder installer which is a combined 32/64 bit installer is not putting the 64 bit version on.
So next I tried uninstalling everything again, ran dbpoweramp-reset.exe, reboot, then went hunting in the registry searching for "dbpoweramp".
There were still references to the dbpoweramp all over the place including some pointing to the 32 bit path, after carefully blowing away all relevant dbpoweramp registry entries and reinstalling everything now works.
Hope this might help someone else or help diagnose/fix the issue for a future version.
