R16.2 Ref Registered File is corrupt

I purchased the R16.2 Music Converter, but the file never downloads completely (37.1MB, Windows 10). As a result, the installation pops up the error message "This installation is corrupted, please obtain a new copy." I have tried multiple times from Firefox and IE. I would appreciate any help.

    The exact size is:

    31.6 MB (33,138,928 bytes)

If you have exactly that then your security software is blocking the installer from unpacking its self. What are you using?

I'm using McAfee. I disabled the Access Protection, which allowed it to proceed further: I reached the Installer, but it failed during the unpacking.

What was the exact message shown? I think your anti virus is stopping the install, disable Mcafee fully.

It starts to install, after selecting an installation directory. The progress bar makes it to approximately 25%, and then the same error message pops up: "This installation is corrupted, please obtain a new copy." I disabled McAfee as much as I could, even killing services and processes in Task Manager. (Many of them restarted automatically.) However, I still encounter the same error message. In case this helps, I'm not having this problem with any other software installations.

Thanks for your help with this.

Re: R16.2 Ref Registered File is corrupt

Try uninstalling McAfee, the installer should never stop part through saying is corrupted because it self unpacks right at the start and it checks the entire install at that point. Something is stopping the files being installed.

Also check you do not have a 2nd security program, such as anti phishing, or anti malware installed.

Ah, your last words nailed it! Something installed ByteFence on my PC. Once I removed and rebooted, the installation worked perfectly ... even with McAfee running. Thanks for your help! I'm a huge fan of the products.
