Convert 24bit Apple lossless to Flac (24bit or 16bit)

I tried to convert a 24bit Apple lossless file to Flac. The result is ... just digital noise.
Can dbpoweramp convert 24bit Apple lossless to Flac (24bit or 16bit) and if so, can somebody please tell me how ?

Try converting to wave, does the wave file play without noise?

If it does try a different player (it could be the player cannot play 24 bit flac).

Sorry NO .... converting to wave results in the same digital noise.
It's NOT the player, there is nothing in the file but noise.
So how can I convert apple lossless HD to 16bit or to fla (16or24)...??

I have just downloaded a Linn Records 24-bit, 96kHz test file and converted it to flac.

The resulting flac, 24-bit, 96kHz plays back in foobar2000 no problem.

Oops, did just the same and just got a file containg digital noise... (using Music Converter 14.4)
Can dbpoweramp handle 24 bit ?

Updated to V 16.2 .... and now things are working much better ! The problem was the version....
Could now convert Apple lossless 24bit (24/48) to FLAC, which results in a FLAC 24bit (24/96) file. The file plays normally in all players that can handle 24bit.

But now I want to convert this FLAC.24bit to FLAC.16bit . How can I do that in dBpoweramp / Converter... is there any way to this ??
